Reservations Required & Limited
In order to reserve a lamb, you will need to place a $50 deposit for each lamb you would like to reserve. This deposit will hold your place on our list. Reservations go very quickly and we often have a waitlist. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable unless we do not have the number of lambs that we expect. You may indicate your preferences for gender and fleece when placing your reservation. We do our best to fulfill your request but offer no guarantees as we cannot decide the gender and final number of babies that will grace our farm on any given year!
2021 Lamb Availability
We are expecting up to 15-20 lambs this year. Lambing should begin around March 15th and will likely go through mid to late April. Most of the time, we prefer our ewes to raise their lambs until they are weaned, which is 6-8 weeks after they are born. There are circumstances when a lamb may leave the farm prior to being weaned, thus making it a ‘bottle baby.’ These are considered and offered on a case-by-case basis.
The cost for any lamb will be $200 this year.
Genetics & Breeding
All lambs are from polled genetics; all males will be castrated prior to leaving the farm; all have the same sire which was a Coopsworth/Border Leicester cross with a dark brown fleece (with the exception of 2 ewes) that were bred off farm to a mixed breed and should be considered meat lambs. Some dams are East Friesian crosses, some are Katahdin hair sheep crosses, and some are Wool crosses that include Coopsworth/Border Leicester, East Freisian, and some other unknown wool genetics. The wool blends do have lovely fleece, and all are appropriate for meat purposes.
Delivery is available for an additional fee.
We have no adult ewes currently available, but that may change by mid-summer. Please let us know if you’d like to be notified if any become available.
